A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android

halloween night gacha

This is my first game, a halloween themed gacha style world exploration. A lot of time was spent on the environment building, gameobject placement, scripting, proofreading.

This game has a simple objective which can be accomplished in less than 5 minutes, to reach level 10 and gain 200XP without losing life. In every house there is a hidden interactable item which will be revealed as the player crosses the perimeter.  The players stats will change accordingly as you interact with 4 items. The 4 particular items are:

Candy: +10XP

Soda: +20Health

Tainted: -20Health

Pumpkin: Varies: +60Health(2.5%), +40 Health(13.5%), +20Health(34%), -20Health(34%), -40 Health(13.5%), -60Health(2.5%).

At any time you can pause or reload the game with the on screen buttons at the top right corner. The credits can be clearly seen on the pause scene.

I had fun making this, I hope you have as much fun playing this. I will work on more games in the future as gain more knowledge of the nuances of programming and game engines.

I do not own any of the unity assets, font or the music. The unity assets I used are free, and the use is covered under EULA and licensed to my unity account for personal use. The author of the font Nishiki Teki states on the official download page: "Feel free to use for your creative works and other purposes.", and on the official YouTube music video for Happy Haunts, where my background derives, states "You're free to use this song and monetize your video.". In the folder there will be a document crediting the property that I do not own. If there are any problems of my usage or distribution of the assets, please contact me at shiromune3@gmail.com.

This game is really cute and i love it! But the annoying thing is that texts keep popping up on my screen so i think that should be fixed, but although i love the game, and im exited for it to get bigger :D

Oh yeah! I definitely won't be able to work on anything soon cos I'm doing full time study (computer science T^T), but that's a good point! As soon as I have free time on me, I'll figure out a way so it doesn't pop in the way! Note this project is nearly 2 years old, I think I probably have learned better UI design by now :D

Thanks for giving it a try though ^o^!

I'm gonna try this. Might upload another comment when I do play it.

Edit! (Because I don't want to spam T^T!) :

I just updated the project now using the gaming pc I've had for about a good year, you can find the files here!

I really hope if you dl this it will solve the problem :3

If it works enjoy ^o^!

Otherwise let me know ;3!

Original :3 :

I'm actually surprised that it doesn't work, cos I built that using a potato laptop on Windows 10. I'm out at the moment, but perhaps you can follow these steps:

1. Open Properties

2. Click on Compatibility

3. Run compatibility troubleshooter

I hope it does sort the issue! ^^

When I get back I'll open up my project file and see if its something on the dev end.

Thanks for checking it out! :3

Hey, first thanks for checking out my cool little project from last year.

I'm using Windows 11, but I think the settings should be the same for most previous iterations of Windows.

First, you want to click on More info (the underline in the case of Windows 11).

When you click on that it should give you an option to Run anyway.

It then should launch the game ^-^

Lemme know how it goes :)

edit: this is just a game with no connection to internet, but by all means check it with anti-viral software if you want to make sure it doesn't harm your pc ^-^

it doesnt have that button where it stands ^run anyway^ because i got a new virus protector and i have tried downloading the version for the phone but it just stays in a black screen

I remember it was like this when I installed it on my Android phone:

"Do you want to install this application?" => Click "Install".

"Play Protect doesn't recognise this app's developer. Apps from unknown developers can sometimes be unsafe." Click => "Install Anyway".

"Play Protect hasn't seen this app before. To protect yourself and others, send it for a security scan." You can tick "Always send unknown apps" and Click => "Send" if you want.

I can't  un-scan an app by Play Protect so my apologies for not being able to  send you any screenshots to help.

And also thank you for checking out my cool little project from last year!

i dont use play protect i use something else so if it hasnt seen it before or from a creator that isnt safe on google play or appstore it wont let it get on the computer

After I finish my current trimester I'm update it a lot, as I now had more skills than I did when I first built this game. look forward to it in around 2 months time ^o^ I'll definitely fix this issue in the next update to the best of my ability ^-^ (Right now I'm doing 2 advanced maths subjects as a requirement of compsci) T^T

I'm also planning a release of my unreleased third project around the same time (featuring a boss battle between the playable character in this game and a spider boss), and a visual novel prototype (with the main character navigating the world in the lenses of one who has communication disorders, which is based on my personal experiences) hopefully completed early next year so you'll have  a lot more projects to see the type of developer besides this game :D

Thanks for your reach out by the way, it really helps me see what going wrong in my projects, and helps me learn and improve to do better next time :3

I'll reply to this comment when it's ready \(^.^)/

Thank you very much for your input!

This was my first ever game dev project I've done, which definitely helped me get accustomed to the basics, and right now I could definitely improve it, but I wanted people to see where I came from and show that anyone can learn to develop games ^^ I get really excited when people comment on them!

I'm working on several new projects and I do hope that you can keep checking them  out :)
